John Overstreet and Neil Perrelli, our winemakers, share their favorite Thanksgiving dishes and wine pairings. 

“We are fortunate that we can be at the beach within about 20 minutes of leaving the winery so my favorite Thanksgiving meal includes Dungeness Crab, eaten on the beach, around a fire, with good friends.  The 2010 Villa del Monte Chardonnay Santa Cruz Mountains has a lovely lightly oaked, crisp finish that is just perfect for this meal,” explains John. 

On a more traditional note, Neil prefers a free range or heritage turkey served with his “most favorite side dish in the world, Brussels sprouts pan roasted with bacon and onions.  Neil recommends serving this with the 2010 Villa del Monte Syrah Rosé, which is filled with complex flavors, a strawberry essence, and a hint of peach on the palate.  The skins were kept in contact with the juice for just a few hours, just long enough to impart a light pink, honey peach hue. This dry rosé finishes crisp and clean.”
