Los Gatos, CA – January 14, 2015: Villa del Monte Winery is pleased to announce that the 2015 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition has awarded four medals to Villa del Monte wines:
- Gold Medal: 2012 Pinot Noir Santa Cruz Mountains William Vincent Vineyard ($34/84 cases produced)
- Silver Medal: 2011 Cabernet Santa Cruz Mountains LindHill Vineyard ($38/116 cases produced)
- Bronze Medal: 2011 Syrah Santa Clara Valley Pasha Vineyard ($32/74 cases produced)
- Bronze Medal: 2009 Merlot Carneros Moon Vineyard ($33/337 cases produced)
All four of the winning Villa del Monte wines are single-varietal, single-vineyard wines from small vineyards located within 100 miles of the winery. These award-winning wines are available for purchase now on the Villa del Monte web site or at the winery. Villa del Monte Wine Club members receive substantial discounts on all wine purchases.
About the 2013 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
Hosted by the San Francisco Chronicle, this is the largest competition of American Wines in the World and is recognized for its 
participation by the most distinguished judges in the country. More than 60 judges, including winemakers, sommeliers, wine educators, bloggers, and members of the media, evaluated the wines, which included more than 6.300 entries entered from over 28 states in America. Villa del Monte Winery is an award-winning, family-owned, boutique winery in the picturesque Santa Cruz Mountains above Los Gatos, California. We produce extraordinary wines that reflect the terroir of their vineyards, including Cabernet, Chardonnay, Malbec, Merlot, Merlot Dessert Wine, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Syrah Rosé, and Zinfandel. Winemakers John Overstreet and Neil Perrelli work with several well-known local growers to select the best grapes possible each year for our single-varietal, single-vineyard wines. Our small lots of wine allow us to meticulously control quality, nurturing our wines to perfection at every step in the process. Grapes come from top Northern California appellations, primarily from American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) in the Santa Cruz Mountains (Santa Cruz County), Los Carneros (Napa County), and Santa Clara Valley. Wine is aged in oak barrels in our forest-protected, solar-powered winery building, cooled by the Santa Cruz Mountains morning fog. Wines are available for purchase at the winery, on the web site, and at selected retail locations.
