October has been a blur of harvest activities. In early October, we crushed and pressed Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot and Cabernet as well as Santa Clara Valley Syrah and Zinfandel. Then, last week, we crushed five tons of Carneros Merlot. The Carneros Merlot is now done with fermentation so we will be pressing it this weekend. Due to the high demand for our ever-popular Merlot, we are also getting some Santa Cruz Mountains Merlot, which we will crush today. Then, we will sit back with a well-deserved glass of wine and enjoy Autumn while the wine settles in to age in oak barrels.
