Although our winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains is only about 15 minutes from the towns of Scotts Valley and Los Gatos, our mountain community relies on the Loma Prieta Volunteer Fire & Rescue (LPVFR) when emergencies arise. Unfortunately, the LPVFR water tender (the specialized firefighting equipment used to transport large amounts of water from a water source to a fire) needs to be replaced.
We are pleased to announce that Villa del Monte Winery is joining other local community organizations, businesses and individuals working to raise money to replace LPVFR’s aging water tender. The Loma Prieta Community Foundation (LPCF) has announced a $125,000 challenge grant. Donations will be matched on a dollar-for-dollar basis until February 28, 2015.
For every bottle of wine purchased at our winery or on our web site between now and February 28, we will donate $2 to the LPVFR water tender fundraising efforts.
